I graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Helsinki in 1991 and founded Anident in 1993. After a few years of practice, I began my systematic studies in veterinary dentistry and first completed my postgraduate studies in Europe (ESAVS) in 1995-1998 and immediately thereafter, in 1999-2001, Residency in the United States at the University of California, California. I completed the dental specialization exams in 2004.
My official titles are therefore: Licentiate of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinarian in Small Animal Diseases, DAVDC (Diplomate of American Veterinary Dental College), DEVDC (Diplomate of European Veterinary Dental College), EBVS® Veterinary Specialist in Dentistry, Board Certified Veterinary DentistTM.
From 2004 to 2006, I worked as a clinical teacher and specialization instructor at the University Veterinary Hospital of California and returned to Finland and Anident for a full-time internship in the summer of 2006. My work focuses on dental care and oral surgery. My special passion is root canals as well as more demanding jaw surgery, such as tumor removal. I enjoy doing things “on top of the last one” and feel lucky when my work results in a painless patient and a satisfied client.
I have lectured actively in Finland and abroad and have held positions of trust at AVDC, EVDC, VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) and WVDC (World Veterinary Dental Council) for many years. In addition, I serve as a peer reviewer in several scientific publications.
In my free time I enjoy pair dancing, outdoor activities and gardening. My pet post is handled by my border terrier Wappu.

DVM, Specialist in Small Animal Diseases, Diplomate of American Veterinary Dental College (DAVDC), Diplomate of European Veterinary Dental College (DEVDC), EBVS® Veterinary Specialist in Dentistry, Board Certified Veterinary Dentist TM
I graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Helsinki in 2002. After graduating, I became passionately interested in oral and dental diseases and completed my postgraduate studies in dental veterinary medicine in Europe in 2004-2006 (ESAVS or European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies). At my workplace in Kirsu and the University Animal Hospital, I focused mainly on dental care. I have worked at Anident since 2007 and in 2008 I started a residency or official specialization in dental care under the guidance of Helena Kuntsi. I passed the last part of the dental specialization exam in 2016 and I am thus the first Finnish veterinarian to have completed a dental residency in their home country.
In addition to my dental residency, I completed a specialist veterinary degree in small animal diseases in 2010.
My official titles are therefore: Licentiate of Veterinary Medicine, Specialist in Small Animal Diseases, DAVDC (Diplomate of American Veterinary Dental College), DEVDC (Diplomate of European Veterinary Dental College), EBVS® Veterinary Specialist in Dentistry, Board Certified Veterinary Dentist TM.
Our family includes a husband and two children as well as smooth-haired retrievers. I enjoy horse riding and exercise actively with dogs.
